Three women in an apartment in Marseille are trapped in a heat wave. The temperature rises in the south of France, the air boils in Marseille, people are advised to stay home and enjoy each other’s company.

However, Denise has had enough of the company of her abusive husband, who is always hungry, and stabs him with a hoe, then strangles him to death on the balcony. The story begins like this, but Denise is not the protagonist: the story revolves around three young women, Nicole, Ruby and Elise, who decide to spend some time with Nicole.
This film is Noémie Merlant’s directorial debut and she does it with a bang
She is not afraid to combine all the available film genres such as adventure, romance, thriller, drama, comedy, etc. into one.
To make her message very clear
But she doesn’t seem to care about the genre, what interests her. As she says, no, scream, scream, scream: many women are accused of rape, violation, humiliation, oppression and victims on a daily basis, most of whom are their lovers, husbands or neighbors.

Noémie doesn’t want them to get away with it, just as she doesn’t want her eccentric characters to find their liberation, and they don’t care what the price will be. A surprising, crude, graphic and very convincing debut.
