It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham, who have a long-running rivalry that comes to a head. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals). The same filming location was also used to portray Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark. Absolutely incredible – the wit, the innuendo, the humour, the characters, the 80s-ness, the cast, the locations – it’s perfection in a TV show. This kind of TV has been lacking for at least the last decade – it has it all. Sentimentality and joy, tears of laughter and sadness, steroid nostalgia and a cast that plays their parts to perfection. I don’t have a bad word to say about this show. Hats off to the writers, actors, crew and everyone else involved. Already on my second watch because there are too many lines worth remembering that are possible for the first time. Bravo!
