American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Tale
The series follows Morgan, a single mother of three children, who, thanks to her exceptional mind, is able to help solve a crime when she rearranges evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department.. Despite her very high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of the arcane, Morgan makes a series of basic mistakes in the law that no one has ever made. Watch a TV law show and be warned not to do it. In the first episode, for example, she retrieves a document from a locked safe in the suspect’s – victim’s – law office – evidence that was illegally obtained – which could never be admissible in court.

It also could not be used to obtain other evidence – violating the legal principle of "fruit of the poisonous tree". In episode 2, she has to be reminded to wear gloves before handling evidence at a crime scene, and in #3, she removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and further destroying everything she removed. They hire her as a consultant
As she looks through a case file, it intrigues her, and she makes several corrections to a homicide board. This leads the department to realize that she has a knack for understanding, extracting, and organizing evidence. Consider her Will Hunting meets Adrian Monk. Like Will, she has an exceptional IQ and insight.
She’s also very assertive
Although not as neurotic as Monk, she suffers from OCD. But she feels like she has to reconcile any conflicting data (like an itch that needs to be scratched). Although Morgan sometimes feels out of place in society, she’s very sensitive. While there are plenty of other police procedurals that feature a civilian with extraordinary talents working alongside police officers, I really enjoy this series.
The kids are also interesting
Morgan’s character is fun to watch. And the cases involve interesting solutions. She also has three children, so she always has to balance her work and home life. In the first episode, her young son helps her with the case behind the scenes.
